They had a daughter together named Vanessa Vadim, born on September 28, 1968, in Paris. She was named after actress and activist Vanessa Redgrave. Their marriage ended in divorce on January 16, 1973.

Vadim has other children with his ex-wives including Christian Vadim and Nathalie Vadim.

Vadim died of cancer at age 72 on February 11, 2000 and is buried at St. Tropez Cemetery.
